Smart Car Key Access
As part of an upcoming announcement at CES, NXP will demonstrate improved ease of use and security of smart car access. The technology will enable applications such as giving car owners the ability to issue and revoke smart car access to their vehicles via their smartphone.
Vehicle-to-X Communication
Working with Econolite, a leading transportation solution provider and manufacturer of advanced traffic controllers, the NXP connected car demos highlight connectivity between traffic lights, NXP/Cohda road side units and an electrical motorbike from Zero. Use Cases like Road Works Warnings, In-vehicle signage, Signal Phase Timing and many more will be demonstrated.
This demo will showcase how passenger vehicles will soon be able to communicate with each other and surrounding infrastructure such as traffic lights, road works and hazard warnings to improve overall safety.
The Connected Car transmits and receives huge amounts of data from various locations around the car. Increasingly powerful, sophisticated and versatile entertainment systems and data-intensive systems like Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) fuel the requirement for more and more components inside the vehicle to communicate. A distributed high-bandwidth networking architecture will streamline the internal networks and make them more efficient and robust. NXP has the right products in its portfolio to make distributed architecture a reality, including Ethernet switches and PHY. In order to bring an automotive Ethernet switch to market, NXP has signed a license agreement with TTTech, the leading supplier of networking solutions based on time-triggered technology and modular safety platforms. The technology and products will be demoed in the connected car section in the NXP booth at CES.
USB Type C – the new standard to allow easy transfer of data across all devices including wearables
USB Type-C will become the prevalent standard across multiple platforms, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, wearables, etc., delivering data and power over a single connector. This demonstration will show how Type-C will enable seamless transfer of data, including multimedia, across multiple devices, quickly, securely and efficiently.
Kona Do N – one card for all payments and value-added services
With the Kona Do N, users will be able to ‘download’ card plates from banks, merchants, transit authorities and other NFC-enabled card providers via their smartphone onto this one central card with no credit card or CVC number for enhanced security.
Home Automation: Smart Lock Solution
Secure, convenient access control to your home, allows you to unlock and schedule access authorizations remotely. NXP and Spicebox Labs collaborated to enable strong security over a non-secure Bluetooth® Smart technology which allows users to manage access online and offline over secure Bluetooth Low Energy connection. To access this information, users will simply have to tap the card against their phone and can view all the relevant information in an application.
